Freeview BBC 1
I'm not getting any listings for BBC one on my freeview box (from
tomorrow onwards). Usually shows 14 days in advance, all of the other channels appear ok and there's no signal problems etc. Last few days I've been getting a few 'program/film to be announced', but only on BBC 1, I put this down to the sport over the weekend and that it may alter times etc. Anyone else having trouble? My box is a DVR, Thomson DHD4000. Moo -- My blog - http://degeneratemoo.livejournal.com |

If it is showing "to be announced" that is info that has been received by the EPG. If it hadn't received anything it would show "no information available" I think. Matt |

I only ever get 7 day EPG, but am also getting "Program/film to be announced" on BBC1. Another annoying problem is that the BBC1 EPG always shows "East Midlands Today" when it should be "Midlands Today". E Mids is transmitted from Waltham, not Sutton Coldfield. Chris |

Our box only seems to pick up anything from 1 to 4 days, if we reboot it it might get up to 7 but that's on a good day, it's a humax pvr - so could it be the boxes that are more implicated in not picking up a long term EPG? Come on give me an excuse to buy a new box - and what box ...? Will http://www.comeandletsplay.com |

Chris I am also on the Sutton Coldfield TX, perhaps a local problem? -- My blog -http://degeneratemoo.livejournal.com- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Not likely. The DHD4000 EPG is transmitted differently than the Freeview EPG. DHD4000's download their EPG at 3am every night, and use the channel five multiplex to receive it. So any problems that you have with the EPG are unlikely to be mirrored by other machines such as the Humax which don't use the same EPG. If you want to check what has been downloaded, you can get to the engineers menu and turn on logging. To get there you go to the setup menu, then technical help, and once you are in the technical help menu type "1004". A new menu will appear, one of the options is logging. If you leave that on for a couple of days you'll see entries made overnight which you can scroll through, and which will tell you if the EPG download has been successful tonight (amongst other more technical menus). There is a company called 4TV which produces the EPG for DHD4000s. I've not been aware of any incidents where the download hasn't been successful for one or a number of channels. It seems to be an all or nothing situation. I would observe that if others who are receiving the Freeview EPG have "To be announced" showing, as do DHD4000 boxes, then the truth is likely to be that the programme for that slot is "to be announced"! Hope that helps Moo! Matt |

Matt It was only showing "to be announced" for some of the programs over the last few days, now (and for the next 14 days of the EPG), it just says "no programme information" meaning nothing has been downloaded. It does seem now that the problem isn't exclusive to BBC1 either, having checked the listings for the 18th Feb, which would have been downloaded last night, I've getting "to be announced" across the channels and "no programme information" for ITV1, BBC3, Channel4+1 etc etc. There's a thread on it he http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...d.php?t=741962 I'm not the only one with the problem. -- My blog - http://degeneratemoo.livejournal.com |
