To ensure that a sizable chunk of the potential audience get so irritated
by the name that they never watch the damn channel.

I wonder if any feminists who are going to object to "channels" being given
gender based names because programming is being segmented by the interests
of heterosexual males or females? It could be illegal under all kinds of
legislation. The implication is that only Men will like "Dave", or women
"Diva".
