The war is over......Blu-Ray has won! Thank God we defeated a clearly inferior
format like HD-DVD. Pop some bubbly, fellas!

Hope all you suckers who bought HD-DVD players have a need for a BIG
paperweight......LOL!!!

Your in the same boat they are sucker. Your current blu-ray player is
obsolete. Even if you just bought it. And if you bought a profile 1.0,
you're in worse shape. The only upgradeable units are the ones in the
PS3's.

At my house I bet I can play more formats than you, in both audio and
video.

I love people who pat their own backs and "LOL" laugh at their own
jokes.

With no competiton, Sony will have little incentive to reduce
licensing fees. I have a hunch. Sooner-or-later, Blu-Ray might go
the same road as Betamax. No this is not a firm prediction, just a
hunch. I think some group will find an alternate method of creating a
high-volume-data disk and player that does not have any licensing
fees. When that happens in 2 (+/-) years, the less expensive media
and media players will start to draw movies as well as data storage.

In the meantime, I'm happy with a normal DVD and an upconverting
player.

It sounds like all you suckers that bought a Blue Ray will have big
paperweights too!

The standard is going to change and current players will not play the new
discs.

Final standard profile has nothing to do with just playing the move. It
has to do with extra features such as PIP etc.

Might want to do some reading.

And your comment is still totally meaningless as it has nothing to do
with the ability to play the movies.

The reading I have done indicates that 2.0 discs MAY NOT play in many 1.0
players..

My comment was spot on. Your post was from last year. It was also from
the manufacturers who can spin anything they want to. Guess you missed
this part.

"In addition, the BD-J interactivity layer, based on Java, has continued
to evolve since the introduction of Blu-ray Profile 1.0. This means that
early players may have a buggy implementation and perhaps more
importantly, they are not powerful enough to play the latest films
properly."

So you go tell the blu-ray developers you know more than they do.
