Green spot on Sony SXRD
Hi all,
I hope I am in the correct NG, if not then please let me know what would be the correct NG. I have a Sony SXRD that is starting to get a lightly visable green tint in the bottom right corner of the 4:3 viewing area. It is strange that the green tint stops, very sharply, at the edge of that viewing area and doesn't extend to the wide screen viewing area. Also, on a solid blank screen you can see very slight blotches of green tint throught the screen. The TV is a little over 2 years old and basicallly is on for about 8 hours a day. Shows are often paused and sometimes the kids put a show on pause while they go out to play and it can be that way for hours, if that makes any difference. Any suggestions as to fixing this? Thanks |

You will need to have an authorized service technician eveluate the set and
confirm the symptom, then the technician can contact Sony regarding the proper procedures and forms. Otherwise get on the phone with Sony Customer Services, using the 800# in your owner's manual, and ask what they need to here from you, or if you can, submitt photos of the problems to them as proof. Good Luck, BTW they have been quite fair in their handling of these problems in their products. "JimK" wrote in message ... Thanks Your Optical Block is bad. $800 + $400 labor. Something in their design caused the blue sxrd chip to degrade after 1000-4500 hours, Sony seems to have fixed the problem. If you don't have extended warranty, Sony will fix it for free until June 30, 2009. Takes about a hour in your house, no big deal. http://esupport.sony.com/sxrdsettlement Come over and visit other sxrd owners at avsforms http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...pp=30&page=645 |
