Taiwan to switch to ATSC?
No, almost certainly not. But if you were an 8vsb troll, you might
use this as evidence that Taiwan would. If ATSC is so terrible, why would any rational corporation want to switch from DVB? Surely this broadcasting corporation is not owned by LG? http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/biz/.../03/2003097326 Quote: "The industry faces other problems as well. Actually this is just a mistake (repeated for the second time) by the reporter. The "broadcaster" mentioned but not named is a cable company and has nothing to do with Terrestrial OTA broadcasting. The history is backward also. The government actually told the broadcasters to use 8-VSB. When they revolted (all of them) the government changed its mind and said that broadcasters could make the decision themselves. They did for DVB-T COFDM. |
Interesting. So there's some possibility that they'll end up with DVB-T for
terrestrial broadcast and ATSC for cable. "Bozo the Clown" wrote in message om... No, almost certainly not. But if you were an 8vsb troll, you might use this as evidence that Taiwan would.
