There is NO such thing. All tv's have some sort of fault, from
Backlight bleed (on LCD's), clouding, duff pixels, motion blur
etc.
In that case, give up watching television.
That's the best suggestion I've seen for a long time. Thank
goodness I still enjoy reading books.

Yup. And listening to music.

From CD, vinyl, or mp3 ? :-)

You missed out cassette, reel to reel, 8-Track, Minidisc, DCC, DAT and
Elcaset, SACD & DVD-Audio.

What's wrong with wax cylinders? ;-)

Bugger! Knew I missed one out :-( I've got an Edison Standard
Phonograph as well!

It's a bit blurred, but it was poor light and I used my phone camera.

I see nobody has mentioned concert halls.

The orchestra will play in A Flat.

Not in my flat though, as there are covenants which strictly forbid
the performance of group ensembles in my tenancy agreement :)

Some of the old documents I acquired following the purchase of my house
describe, in ancient legalese, covenants forbidding me to erect a steam engine
or create a manure heap or ashpit on my land. I have been racking my brains ever
since to think of an activity that would combine all three.

Perhaps it's fortunate that I have central heating and flushing toilets, and my
hi-fi system is not driven by steam.

I got a guitar recently. The music's rubbish but the sound quality is
fantastic.

Adjust the contrast, brightness, and colour for the most realistic effect.
Usually this will mean setting all three a long way below the
manufacturer's default.

Thanks for this advice Bill. I bought a 42" Wharfedale LCD tv from Argos and
wasn't impressed at all with the standard of picture. Up until now i didn't
want to adjust the settings in case i made a mess of things.

Take a picture of the settings with a digital camera before you adjust
any, turn the flash off and use a slow shutter speed. Either that or
get a piece of paper and write them ALL down.

I'm not allowed to keep pigs. Or carry out the professions of an organ
grinder or peddler. Similar to being a freelance in broadcasting.
Especially the pigs.

I could keep chickens, though. Make a good prog for Ch4.

Rather limited selection of pre-recorded material.

Many of the cylinder phonographs let you record your own. And erase the
recordings with a blade attachment.
