Twenty quid freeview box just for the recorder would sort this out, and allow independant recording while the TV is doing something else. -- Adrian C |

Regards and thanks for any help The 'specification' does not seem to indicate that this TV has a video output (audio only). If so, the recorder will not be able to pick up any freeview signals from the TV. You'll need to buy a freeview receiver (cheap enough at £20), and connect this so that it feeds video and audio to the recorder. The recorder then feeds the video and audio to the TV. -- Ian |

The HDMI and scart sockets are not bi-directional They are inputs only. Connect another freeview box to the recorder. |

I don't know why you make that assumption. _Both_ Scarts are in/out, see page 7 of the users manual. |

Scarts can be bi-directional and my TV does output signal (which can be different to what one is viewing) on one of the Scarts. OTOH this does not mean your set can do it, especially if the Scart(s) ais/are set up for RGB. |
