Comcast HDTV in Los Angeles without renting the box?
I've read some people in other parts of the country are getting HDTV cable
service from Comcast without having to rent the box. Is this true? I have a brand new MITS (65813) with built in everything, it seems a shame to have to rent a box if the feature is already built in. I only want basic cable so I don't need any scrambled channels. |
hook the cable to dtv ant in and see what you can get

I get nothing. I figure they have to flip a switch to make that happen
though. "Jim" wrote in message ... hook the cable to dtv ant in and see what you can get "Jim" wrote in message news:[email protected]_s51... Works here in Indy - but as you said you won't get HBO or Showtime.

I had a Mits 55613 for a couple of days (see the thread: 8VSB/QAM Tuners and
Time Warner Cable) While I am in San Antonio and use Time Warner, I ran the cable to the ANT-DTV and a cable from the loop out to ANT-A. Ran a digital and a cable channel scan (took 10-15 minutes for the digital side). I picked up all my basic channels (I don't have a digital package) and HDTV local channels. I also picked up some channels that I didn't even know they transmitted (like the local transguide traffic cameras and BBC America) "Jim" wrote in message news:[email protected]_s51...
