White spot on my DLP

Got my Mitsubishi WD-Y577 HDTV and when the TV is off, I can see a
baseball sized white circle (a soft circle filled in).

When I move to different angles you can't see it, only when looking
head on. It's not glare either.

It looks like this:

any idea? again the circle is soft white and fades at the edges.

i'm thinking i should just exchange it....

Reflection of ambient light sources via the internal mirror, common. not
only to your Mitts set.

Here's how to make the spot go away....turn the TV off, and then turn the
lights off in the room. Spot will disappear.
HTH.

Thanks Deke! I had no idea that the mirrors would reflect ambient
light like that. I didn't look in the user manual to see if it says
something to that affect because I'm sure I'm not the first and I know
I won't be the last to ask.
