According to http://www.sheffieldpub.co.uk/pubs/dore/dore-moor-inn/
they sell real ales but no rotating guest ale.

Another web guide says
Then in 1998 something terrible happened to the Dore Moor Inn. It was
purchased by Vintage Inns :)

Mmm. Better than by Punch!

At least M & B, who own the Vintage Inns name, are Brewers running pubs.
Punch are asset strippers running investments!

In the case of the Dore Moor Inn some of those criticisms will be met
next year!

No doubt if your lad turns that pub round he will be whisked away to
another problem one! Does he sell real ale by the way? If so I might take
a small party up there.

PS by 'small party' I mean my very favourite small party, Hil.
Only the one, I'm told.
What is it? Or is it a rotating guest? No quips from the rest of you.

At the moment. Next time we go up, without a
work order to complete, I'd be pleased to buy you a pint!
That sounds alright. OK if I bring the rest of the brass band?

It's one! Marsdens. But in the new year the pub is having a refurb.
Later in the spring/summer he's hoping to be able to organise a real ale
festival!

I should imagine that's Marston's 'Pedigree' which is ok if there's
nothing else. Has to be kept in tip top condition though :-)

If he does let us know.

Last night in a Worcester pub I asked for two pints of Banks's, indicating
the handpump, and the girl went to the keg Pedigree dispenser. When I
mentioned it she seemed to think I was being picky.

That is not actually true.
M & B are a pub group just like Punch. They no longer own any
breweries, they got sold off and they became just a retailer.
Their old brewing operations are now owned by Coors of
the US who I work for.

Cheers

I was going by my son's experiences. He was employed by S & N who got
taken over by Spirit, who got taken over by Punch.

Spirit sold off pubs to get their investment back.

Punch turned the brand he worked in (Millers) into "pile em high, sell
them cheap" 2 for a tenner. Neither Spirit nor Punch care much for
their employees or customers. Punch are far worse, they've already sold
off going concerns to realise the building plot potential.

even that's not quite right. some (all?) of S&N's pub business was sold
off; S&N still exist although they don't brew in either Scotland or
Newcastle ;-(

Yes, sorry Charles!

Poor English. I'd meant the brand (Miller's Kitchen) he worked for.
