Isn't it time in this day and age, in the 21st century, to ditch
this piece of racist gabage?

Are you a fan of Martin Amis?

I don't think I have ever read any of his posts.

I've already done that, if I fly a flag at all it's a St. George cross
or a Yorkshire flag.

They don't make Trolls like they used to.

We call it a pudding around here.

That is not the complete OED entry. Your deliberate removal of the
rest of the definition is dishonest.

Not of any real significance to most people.
Perhaps "most people" should be better educated.

Pray tell, why would most people even care?

I don't suppose they do.

Why should they? Most people aren't British. ;-)

"later extended to any size or adaptation of the union flag, whether used
as a jack or not, and regarded as the national ensign".

It sez here.

i'm from yorkshire too; what sort of group is this?

Hi Muriel.

This is a group about digital TV (although I see the message was also posted
to groups about politics, legal and various).

Trolling (in the context of NewsGroups) is posting a deliberatly provocative
comment in the hope of sparking off some sort of row in the group. A Troll
is one who engages in such (rather sad) activity.

I'm not from Yorkshire, by the way, but nice to meet you all the same...

Despite this being an obvious troll, I'm going to comment anyway.

If immigrants are against the Union flag, surely that undermines their
claimed desire to be British. IMO you assimilate, or you leave!

Not to mention the Confederacy flag, in some of the southern states.
