Bedroom HDTV with DTV

I'm finally gonna take the plunge into HDTV. I have DTV and am wondering
what should I be looking at. for a HDTV monitor.

1. DTV will be providing a DTV Receiver so I suspect I wont be needing a
tuner.
2. I will be looking for a monitor in the 19 inch range.
3. Is there a noticeable difference in EDTV and HDTV when watching a
bedroom TV?
4. I noticed a lot of monitors states that they do not support wide
screen. Is this a big issue?

Thanks for any help

Unless you are in a location where you can easily get OTA signals from local
stations and are able to set one up, a tuner will not do you much good.

Pretty small for an HD set. Maybe a flat screen?

A TV is a TV, no matter where it's located. HDTV is better, at least to me.
Look at both side by side if you can and make up your own mind.

HD is 16 x 9. You will either have bars on the sides while watching SD
stuff, or bars on top or bottom watching HD stuff. Depends on what is
important to you.

What ever your decision, be happy with it.......no one else lives with it
but you!

Thanks for any help

Dump DTV & Ruppert Murdoch (as I did) and get HD in a box for $1000.00

I have a 17 inch plasma set. It sits 3 feet from me on the side of my desk.
How far will you be from your set? AT 19 inches it's not HDTV. Sets have
less resolution than that. DTV is not a very good setup. Go to a TV store
and start asking questions. If you really do want something in your bedroom
you'll need to start around 34 inches and go up. JB

I live in the boondocks and I cannot receive any OTA stations. I just
purchased a Samsung SIRTS 160 Direct TV HDTV receiver at Circuit City.
Tomorrow I'm heading out to pick up a HDTV at Wally World...
