Pinnacle PCTV DVB-T Flash Stick
I like the look of this, especially the ability to be able to record digital TV directly into its internal memory, has anyone on this group got one and if so how do they rate its performance? http://www.pinnaclesys.com/images/flash_dvbt/uk/index_uk.html |

The only thing is that with just 1gb you won't record much. |

They also don't say the recording format .TS or MPEG4, there was a previous thread on the idea of incorporating a flash memory feature into PVRs, especially now that larger capacity memory cards (such as 8gb SD) are becoming available and the price is coming down. |

In which case it'll be TS. Hardware transcoding is a big feature so their promotional material would have mentioned it. |

Well now that VHS video recorders are so rapidly becoming obsolete, one would have thought that there would be a crying need for a new kind of 'standardised' and easily transferable storage media as a successor to videotape. By all accounts memory cards aren't reliable enough for long-term are archiving, but if it was that important the information could simply be transferred onto a medium which has longer term reliability. |

At the moment recordable DVDs fulfil that roll. |
