Akai/Samsung 54" HD RPTV s-video soft
 

TV is Akai PTH5498 54" 4:3 HD RPTV which has Samsung guts in it.
Picture is softer from a S-Video than the composite connection. I've tried
several S-Video cables and it's always the same. Same result from both
S-Video inputs. The picture from the tuner is also sharper than S-Video.
Could there be a bad S-Video input circuit or something.

When using component input the picture is fine. A Dish Network 6000 receiver
is connected with both component video cables and composite or S-Video. HD
programs are viewed through component inputs. The best full screen display
of a 4:3 Non HD picture, from Dish or off the air, is with the video
connection.
