Do you know if it will be shot by a completely seperate crew like last years
ABC production? I like that better then the 16:9 HD version of the game
being framed for 4:3 SD.

Quoted from http://cbs.sportsline.com/u/cbs/spor...4superbowl.htm

For the first time on a Super Bowl broadcast, the unified productions
for the Standard Definition and HD telecasts will feature the same
camera angles, replays, graphics and announcers. Also for the first
time in a Super Bowl broadcast, the pre-game show, the game, halftime
and post-game show will be presented in HD.

Yes, on CBS. DirecTV announced that subscribers receiving both local
channels and HD programming will also receive the Super Bowl in HD. (I'm a
little surprised that DirecTV chose not to make a bigger splash with this
announcement.) Here's the news release:

| Which network will broadcast Superbowl on Feb 1?
| I hope it is not FOX because FOX is not on HD yet.

no, it would be like being able to sit wherever you want - even changing
seats every second - instead of having the director decide where you
sit...the point is that the 'best' angle is a matter of opinion

when are they gonna give US the choice of what camera to watch?

Multi-angle is available on DVD. Is HDTV capable of that? DTV have 6
sub-channels. So they can produce the Superbowl in 6 different camera
angles. But I would think it is a bad idea. It would be like getting
stuck in a bad corner of the stadium instead of letting the director
to show you the best angle possible.

So, will DTV have some sort of waiver process that you can go through, like
Dish Network does to get the "distant locals"? I have Dish now and get
locals via the dish, but also get the NY and LA feeds of the networks. I
had to get waivers for the distant network stations though.

No satellite service offers locals in HD though, do they? ONly the CBS-HD
feeds that Dish and DTV have, right? Even with a BUD, you can't get your
locals in HD, can you?

Last question........how can you tell if you live in a O & O market or in an
affiliate market? I'm in central PA and get the harrisburg, lancaster, york
stations as my locals.

Thanks.
