I know there is another thread running for this topic, but if you feel
strongly abgout the removal of UK History from the evening TV
schedules on Freeview, could I urge you to go to the UKTV website and
make your complaints as forcefully as possible in the "contact us"
section.
Another case of dumbing-down, I think.

How is not repeating the same program ten times a week dumbing down?
Shorter broadcast time = fewer repeats.

Just record the content when its on and them watch it when you want -
assuming that you are not a dumb viewer.

Does seem an odd thing to do though, unless the bandwidth during the evening
is going to become something else. Maybe Dailey sport tv, or sheep grazing
in Cumbria TV?

:-)

It's so 'Dave' could have near 24 hour coverage.

UKTV History has taken over the bandwidth that UKTV Bright Ideas used to
have.

Are they really that short of bandwidth? Chuck out the +1 channels and that
itv channel that just puts out soaps all day, and nuts tv, and half the
chopping channels and all would be fine. I'm tempted to suggest we ditch bbc
3 and four as then we could ditch the dross and repeats on 1 and 2 and fit
the other stuff in there instead.

What is the point of Dave anyway, destined to fail, I guarantee.

Losing a few hours of UKTV History is really no big deal, unless
you're going to miss a few episodes of Tenko / Sharpe / Antiques
Roadshow (which are stretching History's remit a little too far
anyway) or only being able to watch part of the all-day Life Of
whatever marathons.

The spare bandwidth could be used for 'Dave+1', or even 'Dave 2'.

Just imagine how we might react if it had been named,
