Many thanks, Mitch go into the display settings of your pc - make sure it's enabled for dual display - unless your pc is ancient and doesnt support such a thing. -- Gareth. Dr Zoidberg,
That has fixed my problem, my tv only supports 1024 x 768 and I had the PC running on 1280 x 1024. Thanks very much! |

I set it for dual screens, but it only displays the wallpaper on the telly whilst the monitor carries on as normal. The only other setting I can find just reverses that process, when I want the same on both screens. I'm running Vista. Any ideas? Marky P. |

It's working fine for me on Vista Home Premium on my laptop and a 26" Philips at 1360 * 768 using PowerStrip. Assuming it's all working right, you will get the wallpaper on the second screen but all programs will still open on the original screen. If you have a window that's not minimised, try dragging it across to the TV and see if it works. If it does, when you then reboot the computer without the TV switched on next time all the programs will open on the monitor again. If you want to move things like Internet Explorer across that are maximised, you need to Restore them (double-click on the title bar) before you can drag them across. -- MrGuest Always, seemingly, on the road to nowhere |

It would - assuming you can find a video mode that both monitor and TV are happy with. You would really need a properly buffered splitter though like: http://www.cypuk.com/pdf/cpcd3a.pdf -- Cheers, John. /================================================== ===============\ | Internode Ltd - http://www.internode.co.uk | |-----------------------------------------------------------------| | John Rumm - john(at)internode(dot)co(dot)uk | \================================================= ================/ |

Generally the results can be "variable" - much depends on what scaling the TV has to do to get the PC image on screen, and also what control it gives you over fine tuning it. The best results I ever saw were with some of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...ternodeltdcomp We used them in a window display for a client, and I was amazed at the quality of the PC display. You could tweak just about every parameter, and the image was certainly as good as some low end LCD monitors - text was quite readable etc and no obvious visible scaling artefacts. The results were good with either 1280x768 or 1366x768 output from the PC even though only the latter was a precise match for the actual panel resolution. -- Cheers, John. /================================================== ===============\ | Internode Ltd - http://www.internode.co.uk | |-----------------------------------------------------------------| | John Rumm - john(at)internode(dot)co(dot)uk | \================================================= ================/ |

Its easy to have them at different resolutions if you want them to display independent content, for example when using more than one screen for a big desktop. It gets harder if you want the same image on both. Many of the older cards that had a TV out capability would scale (or probably more accurately decimate) the output to make whatever main resolution was selected viewable (although not necessarily readable) on a secondary TV. The more modern cards with two completely independent screen outputs ("dual head") like your (and my) ATI cards don't have any default options to allow one screen to duplicate the other as far as I am aware. -- Cheers, John. /================================================== ===============\ | Internode Ltd - http://www.internode.co.uk | |-----------------------------------------------------------------| | John Rumm - john(at)internode(dot)co(dot)uk | \================================================= ================/ |
