Humax PVR9200-T Question

I have a Humax PVR9200-T and generally love it. One thing I haven't
figured out how to do, though, is to extend the end time on a scheduled
recording which has already started.

(Ducks in case I've missed the obvious...)

I don't know if it's any help but on my Humax PVR8000T-80GB, repeatedly
pressing the record button will change it if recording manually.
Mike.

Hopefully someone will be along later to confirm details (and it's on
the Humax site), but the last but one software update provided an option
to 'pad' recordings by a few minutes. I had to manually update though.

If you start a recording manually, you can change the end time by
selecting the channel and pressing Record, then nudging the end time
earlier or later using the arrow keys. Unfortunately this doesn't work
for scheduled recordings -- pressing the Record button gives a strange
error message: "Processing the recording schedule", IIRC.

I already pad 2 minutes at each end, but changes to these settings won't
affect recordings already in progress.

I don't think you can.
You can auto-pad all scheduled recordings and extend a manual one , but what
I've done in the past when I've known something is running behind and will
be cut off is schedule a second recording to start at the same time as the
first finishes.

You may lose a few seconds as it stops and restarts , but that's not too
bad.

Suggest adding a feature to Humax - they may well listen

Yes but you can add time on by default. All my scheduled recordings
have an extra 5 minutes added on. It is in the menu options. I can't
check at the moment as someone else is watching the TV !!!

yes, but the OP wants to extend a recording that's already in progress.
I don't think you can do this if it was a scheduled recording, rather
than an instant recording.

I think that's right but his subsequent postings suggest he may be
unaware that he can add time by default to all scheduled recordings.
This would generally avoid the need to make changes during the
recording. I wanted to clarify this.

I suppose the easy answer, if you realise the programme is
significantly over-running, is just to record the next programme as
well.

Ah, OK - I thought perhaps the padding worked the way you need it.

.... and through a worm-hole in the time-space continuum, the sound of

Not that it helps the OP... :-p
