Nova-t pci card

My Nova-t card is quite old, but it has been working fine until recently.
The picture & sound now freeze for about 20 secs every couple of minutes.
The only recent change that may be significant, is that I have removed my
pci modem in favour of a Netgear DG 834GT modem/router.
Any thoughts on how I might resolve this problem?

Try changing PCI slots.

There may be a missing bit of the change in that:

a. previouusly you had a modem in the PC;
b. now you have an external modem/router;so

you may now have a connection to the router you did not have (or did not
have enabled) before - either wired or wired.

If so, it is that bit mroe likely that the new connection and the TV
card are sharing the same IRQ. This is sometimes a bad thing. Have you
tried putting the TVcard in a different PCI slot?

Even with propagation delays, if I had refreshed before posting I could
probably have saved the electrons. (Imitation is the sincerest form of
flattery but that's not what I intended. )

Put the pci modem back and see if things return to normal.

ISTR that the Nova-T operates in some part as a 'LAN' device to get data
off the card to the software - hence it can be upset by firewalls or LAN
-related events/changes.

Have you tried downloading, removing and reinstalling the software?

Removing and reinstalling sw solved the problem.

They're actually USB devices but built onto a PCI card.
