Live video cam recording using DVR ala CCTV
 

Hi guys! I really don't know if this is the place to ask this
question, but anyway..

I am looking for a DVR/TiVo/PVR? that can record data from a high end
digital video camera. It's like a surveillance like setup but only I
want it in high definition. the reason is I want to replay the data in
an HDTV. Also, I want the DVR to continue recording while on
continuous playback.

A simple application is in sports. I would place a cam in front of the
pingpong (tabletennis) players and record while they are playing.
There's a big HDTV beside them playing 30secs delayed, so that when
somebody scored they can actually see how they've done it. Much like
an instant replay.

I don't if this is possible (I know it is). I have no clue to what to
buy.
