If analogue reception is extremely good with the set-top aerial (no snow, perhaps minor speckling) you might get away with it, though it could still be susceptible to interference from nearby electrical appliances. -- Max Demian |

Just seen some bargains freeviews sets at Asda under £20 so worth the gamble My local Asda had their 20 quid STB on display by the front door, with a set top aerial pointing through the glass. Mind you the transmitter can be seen standing at ground level in the car park, so that's an exceptional case. -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. |

Cheers The placement of TV indoor aerials is very "fussy", in my experience. If you don't get good reception the first time; try the set in different positions, or the aerial in different positions, using an extension lead. Sylvain. |

Yes I used to mess about like that when I had one, but that's only going to work with analogue as the differences in reception are immediately visible. -- Max Demian |

Would I be able to view freeview via a set top indoor aerial?
Yes. But it might require fiddling with the aerial orientation frequently. I use an amplified (36dB) aerial with loop and antennae and it works on most freeview channels, and I'm in a real blackspot regarding signal strength! Cheers, Al. |
