Setanta sports on a Sky freeview card?
 

Could anyone tell me wether I can subcribe to Setanta Sports without
subscribing to Sky? I have a box, dish and Sky freeview card. Also my
box isn't permanently connected to my phone line, would this be a
problem?

I've tried phoning Setanta but all they seem to have is an automated
service to process orders. Any help would be gratefully recieved.

Yes you can. The subscription is directly with Setanta, not via Sky. Not
that you need one, but they can supply a card if you haven't got one.

I don't think that a telephone line is needed unless you have a multi-
room subscription.

Just got this Email from Setanta, looks like it is possible. Posting
just in case anyone searches for this info

Thank you for your e-mail.

I can confirm that you do not need an active Sky subscription in order
to receive the Setanta service.

Providing you have Sky digital equipment and a viewing card number we
can send the signal to, it is possible to subscribe to our service.

I can also confirm that you do not need a telephone line connected to
your digi box to receive our service. All that is required in this
space on our website is your normal landline telephone number or
mobile number.

If further information or assistance is required, please call our
Customer Services team on the number below. Our lines are open from
8.00 am to midnight, seven days a week.
