Locking Up Problem with Sharp DV-HR400H. HD+DVD Recorder
 

Has anyone come across this before.

I have a problem with my Sharp DV-HR400H, HD+DVD recorder. When it has
been left set up for timer recording to take place a number of days in
the future, it locks up and won't respond to any buttons. The
recording light is still showing but the standby light isn't.

Sometimes it will operate again some 12 hours later. The seems to
happens after the EPG has been updated during the afternoon update.The
EPG indicator is still showing hours after the update should have
finished. (It should be possible to over ride the update anyway).

I can only resume use either by unplugging the power or pressing the
Reset button.

Sharp say they have no knowlege of this as a fault.

I have had to resurrect my SVHS recorder as I can't rely on the Sharp!

Any thoughts welcome
