Channel 5 US - The Blob 21 April

I've got a new Philips HDD DVD recorder that has a freeview tuner
incorporated.

On 21 April I used the VideoPlus+ system to record The Blob (SciFi),
about 1h 30 minutes.

After 57 minutes the picture disappeared completely but sound continued
perfectly for the rest of the movie.

I didn't realise this until a few weeks later when I viewed the movie.

Did anyone watch this movie and know if Channel 5 US had a transmission
problem.

Was the DOG still visible on screen? If it wasn't then perhaps your SCART
plug became disconnected at one side of the plug and losing video
connection. I've had it before, but I generally use flat ribbon SCART leads
now.

Why would a SCART plug affect an integrated tuner?

I like the reference back to Digby The Biggest Dog In The World. I remember
watching that one New Year's Day when I was about 11. Fantastic film (at the
time. It'd probly be **** now)

He mentioned SciFi and thought it was on the SciFi channel.

It was Channel 5 US but this was an internal recording from the
incorporated digital tuner onto the incorporated hard drive.

I was more wondering if anyone can recall a break in picture transmission.
