Electricity is a finite natural resource? What are you on about? The fossil fuel we mainly use to generate it, is. So what if they are finite (though strictly speaking, they arent), we'll stop using them long before we run out, and we are a long long way from running out of them. Hundreds of years away. And, FWIW, if everyone in the UK stopped burning fossil fuels , eg we shut all our factories down, stopped flying, stopped using electricity and gas, switched OFF our Sky+ boxes (forget standby, thats for wimps), then that is equal to 3 months of Chinese production today (let alone ina few years time). Or in other words, in 100 years time, when the temperature has risen several degrees (as forecast by the GW proponents), the difference that will make is a mere 3 months. e.g. , if the temp will be 2 deg C higher in 100 years, then our stopping ALL consumption, will mean we have another 3 months before it hits that, and it will only have risen something like 1.999997 degrees or similar. In other words, The UK don't matter a hill of beans. And these figures, it should be remembered, come not from the GW sceptics, but from the proponents! Its a bit like camerons windmill, what was than going to take, was it 200 years to payback or similar? -- Tumbleweed email replies not necessary but to contact use; tumbleweednews at hotmail dot com |
