hdmi and dvi

My TV has a DVI connector and my new cable box has HDMI. I have a DVI
cable from my old box. Should I use the DVI cable and get an HDMI
adapter or get a HDMI cable with a DVI adapter? Is one better than
the other?

Thanks!

I doubt it matters. You will need cables for the audio,
since dvi doesn't carry audio.

I know...that is what I used when I had the old cable box with the
DVI.

I suggest you buy a dvi-hdmi cable. An adaptor may or may not work.
The price is about the same depending upon brand and length.
I had problems with 1080I using an adaptor.
