Looking for a 2.1 receiver with digital optic input
Hi,
I have an LCD HDTV and I want to run the sound through a receiver. I live in a small apartment with no room for side/rear speakers, so no surround for me. I'll be using 2 speakers and a subwoofer (I'm thinking of getting them from Orb: any comments?). So, I'm looking at 2.1 receivers but can't find one with digital optic: does anyone know of such a beast? On the other hand, I'm willing to get a 5.1 receiver (seems they all have digital optic) but would still just have the 2.1 speakers attached. Question: what happens to 5.1 sound quality when it's played through just 2.1 speakers? Thanks. |

You tell it, in the setup procedure, how many speakers you have and it will route all the sound appropriately. Kal Kal, thanks very much. |

Looking for a 2.1 receiver with digital optic input
Just got Orb speakers two weeks ago after thinking about it for 3 months.
My only regret is that I wasted 3 months of time. The Orb speakers are everything they claim them to be. Click below for review and scroll down to Orb review. http://www.audaud.com/archive.php?SectionID=3 Also have Oppo Digital DV-981HD. Review of same on same web page above. -- Big Island Bob |

Result is spectacular. There is also a fiber optic output for 5.1 which I do not use. Cass |
