Anyone know what legal issue is stopping Sky from braodcasting the
ITVx+1 channels?

I'm sure the good folks on umts will help you with this.

I'm sure they're still on there, but only ITV2+1 & ITV3+1. Also note that
not all programmes are available, some most notably films are not.

They're there, but there is a message bearing the ITV logo stating for legal
reasons they cannot show the earlier programs when you switch to them.

The OP was getting all mixed up, thinking it was Sky who broadcasted
these channels and then mixing up rights issues on the +1 channels.
Seems the Sky brainwashing has worked on some.

Lol, no problem - I just wondered whether it was a slip or done on purpose.
I'm interested in language and I see this usage creeping into more and more
internet postings, especially with younger posters on web forums like
Digital Spy. I suppose it makes sense in a way.

Perhaps it will become the norm.

Er, what's the point of a +1 channel that doesn't show everything an hour
later??! Pointless really

AFAIK this relates to films for which they have only purchased a fixed
number of showings. To show these on a +1 channel amounts to a second
showing which obviously then costs double.

Newer contracts for film showings take +1 channels into account.
