I cannot find programming that suits me in STD,...

You should have that "STD" looked at whether you like the programming
or not.

I have been waiting since the 50's for tv worth buying an expensive set.

After half a century and not seeing any improvement in the programming,
maybe you should consider reading a book.

May I put in a word for Veronica Mars on The CW. Like Buffy the Vampire
Slayer and Firefly, an overlooked gem.

Like Firefly you say?? One of my very favorite shows, I have the DVDs
of all the episodes and of course, Serenity, the movie.

CW is on here, but it is a digital sub of one of the other channels and
I don't have a guide listing for it. When is Veronica Mars on?

Well, it isn't sci-fi or demon fighting. It does have the comedy/dram combo
of those two shows, however. The concept is a modern Nancy Drew -- her
father is a private eye and she has picked up a lot from him. Still, I find
the writing and acting first rate. It airs Tuesday nights, 8:00 pm MST,
9:00/8:00 Central, according to the web site.
