No... the 'old' models will be 'sold out', and the new models with better
specs will be selling at - or near - pre-sale prices. TTUL... John "Al Schmidt" wrote in message news:[email protected] After the superbowl will prices go up? |

"Al Schmidt" wrote in message news:[email protected] After the superbowl will prices go up? Don't know why they should. Late winter and spring is usually a slow time for TV sales, and during the summer the manufacturers bring out new models and discount the existing stock. On top of this, there is a steady trend towards lower prices as manufacturers write off R&D and tooling costs. That said, there is always a certain amount of up and down as manufacturers and retailers compete with sales. |

After the superbowl will prices go up? Well, the big sales from the official list prices will be over. With the slow-down, we will probably see prices go back to close to the list prices for the next month or so as the big chain stores wait out the 30 price guarantee period. Then March Madness starts up and we will likely see another round of big sales pushes. The new 2007 models will start showing up in March and April and they will likely come out at new list prices not far above the current sale prices. The normal 5% to 10% weekend sales at the chain stores for the new 2007 models such as Best Buy will likely match the current sales prices and may well be even lower. Alan F |

After the superbowl will prices go up? Let's see. Before the "Big Game"(I don't wanna get in trouble with the NFL licensers :))) demand goes up. After the "Big Game" demand returns to normal. Now apply the law of supply and demand and calculate the answer to your own question ;) -- Rick Evans --------------------------------------------------------------- Lon -71° 04' 35.3" Lat +42° 11' 06.7" |

JVC has announced the new 998 series for winter/spring but most other makers usually introduce new models during the summer to get in on fall buying for football/World Series/colder weather viewing. Unless you've heard something that I haven't. |

After the superbowl will prices go up? I doubt it. There is a long term trend for prices to go lower. The thing about mass-appeal electronics is that when it comes to pricing there is no bottom. |
