MPEG bitstream to test a 1080i HDTV?

If all goes well, I will soon have a Sharp TV that promises to do
1080P input and output. I don't yet have many high def sources to fedd
(and test!) the TV.

I do have a little box from Netgear called the EVA700. It is capable
of playing out MPEG bitstreams to 1080I or 720P, using three component
cables.

I would like to use the EVA700 as a low grade "signal generator" to
test out my new HDTV, when it arrives. To do so, I would use the
EVA700 to decode a high def MPEG bitstream. Where can I find such
bitstreams?

I am sorry that my post is vague and unclear. The sort of bitstream that
I am looking for is a test bitstream. Static test patterns, zone plates,
and so forth.

Thanks for any ideas.

These sites are simply outstanding. Thank you for your post! The W6RZ
site is interesting in that there is absolutely no contact information,
no way to express gratitude. Except for the call letters, of course. It
must be a "ham" thing.
