I just noticed when I play music the screen of my Sony rear projection TV
shakes. Will this damage the TV?

I can;t tell you what would happen in your circumstance, but my 56" RPTV
has been standing on my sub woofer for nearly 10 years and the set still
works fine.

Which one do you want?

Thanks. I just put a piece of granite under the sub. The granite improved
the sound of the sub but the screen still shakes.

It shakes even at low listening levels.

What do you mean by shaking? Is the picture distorted and wavy, or do you
mean the whole TV physically shakes? Is your TV a CRT projection set? If
you have distortion from magnetic interference, then your best bet is to
move the sub far enough way that you can't see any effect from it.

maybe

My 60" has been running 5 years with a 15" 500W woofer 5 feet away without
problem.

However, the nails are coming out of the cedar siding outside the room.

A 1 year old Sony 51" rear projection set. The picture is fine. I noticed
just the screen shaking when the set was off and the sun was shining on it.

Most rear projection TVs have a protective screen over the front of the
actual projection screen. It might just be the protective screen
flexing. If you put your hand on the TV, can you feel it vibrating?
