Anyone have problems with rebate for Syntax 42" LCD HDTV bought on Black Friday?
A couple of my friends and myself are having problems with getting our
$200 rebates from Microcenter. They say the UPC code is missing when we clearly sent the original from the box. I had cut mine out specifically. It is ****ing me off! |

It helped me at least once when a rebate was rejected due to a "missing" UPC. I was able to send a copy of my copy to the rebate center, pointing to the UPC, which not only looked like a UPC but was actually labeled UPC. My note simply asked: "if this isn't a UPC, then just what is it?" |

Dave Clary/Corpus Christi, Tx Home: http://davidclary.com Consumer PITA, plus recent legislation by several states for rebate processes to be more streamlined and automated. There is no coincidence that the rebate BS started drying up after these state legislations were enacted. Rebates are often done by third parties, of which the payouts come from INSURANCE claims. I don't know why the majority of people aren't offended when they see a rebate attached to some product. A rebate is a wagered bet to hedge off of consumer laziness, ignorance, or even stupidity. As soon as I see BS rebate attached to anything, I'm looking elsewhere. It is especially sad that so many are people are supportive about rebates and the BS hoops and hurdles. But, then again, people also play the lottery -- which is a tax on stupid people. |

I am going to have to send a photocopy of the UPC, but i will go ahead
and send copies of my rebate form, receipt, and UPC again. When i sent mine info originally, i even included a self-addressed stamped envelope so they can send me the rebate back. What is even more disturbing is that a few friends of mine are having the same issue. There is some conspiracy going on here. |

It boggles my mind why so many people think that it is acceptable that they should have to jump through hoops and hurdles, waste their time "record keeping", and (worst of all) give over personal information for data mining. Apparantly, their time and dignity isn't worth much. Rebates = You aren't respected as a consumer! |

Hopefully this was the first time you have been burned. "Fool me once..." ....you know the rest. |
