HD programs that are not shown in HD on the cable system
 

I have just gotten an HDTV and I've noticed that shows that are in HD
are not always shown in HD on my TV. For instance, the BCS Football
game tonight.
It is on in HD on the Seattle station but not the Buffalo station even
though it is listed as being in HD and. of course, should be.
Why is that? Is it the Buffalo station's fault or my cable provider's
(Rogers in Toronto)?

Does the Buffalo affilliate even broadcast in HD? In my area, we have
been awating the FCC to allow the local Fox station to broadcast in HD
for years now. The local NBC affilliate is based in a town about 20
miles east of me, but Charter (whose local offices are based in the
same town) doesn't carry their HD broadcasts on its HD package
locally.

Figure that one out. It's frustrating as Hell.

Are you actually turning to the HD station?
It is not the same channel as the SD station.

The WUTV Fox 29 station in Buffalo, NY is an HD station. Checking the
Buffalo thread at avsforum.com
(http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...page=94&pp=30),
apparently there was a malfunction last night and the station did no
switch to the HD feed from the network. This a major foul-up for a
championship game.

The game was indeed in HD. All of the remaining playoff NFL games will
be in HD.

Yes, I am watching the HD station. The game changed to HD later in the
evening.

evening.

The same thing happened here for the Cowboys-Seattle game. We lost
the HD picture early in the second quarter and it didn't come back
until the second half.
