FOX HDTV and sound?

Hello all,

I have a Phillips 42" plasma, Comcast HDTV digital cable box in the Northern
Virginia area. When shows are not broadcast HD, I watch them over the
analog input to prevent black bar "burn in".

My question is about FOX. Every station that comes in with a true HD
program (HBO - Sopranos, ABC - Nypd Blue, NBC - The West Wing) looks and
sounds great. When I try to watch "24" on Fox each week, it looks
outstanding, but I get these annonying "pops" every five seconds or so. Is
this something wrong with Fox, or should I be calling Comcast? No other
channel seems to have this problem.

Thanks for the help...

JH:

FOX Network & locals are in Digital (not Hd) transmission now...

but HiDef is 6 months+ away yet....

FOX will then be able to do 720p HD programming....

No other channel seems to have this problem.

If you're watching Channel 5 (WTTG), I get the same thing with Comcast
analog in Pennsylvania. Sounds terrible on my good TV, through the fancy
sound system, and terrible at a friend's house on his TV (with digital
cable), but fine on on the junk 13" mono sound TV in the computer room.
Thankfully here we have another Fox affiliate with normal sound (and a
better picture).

I haven't had any trouble with the sound on "24". I'm not even sure
what format the sound is for that show, but perhaps your receiver
isn't decoding it properly. Just a guess.

Most likely a problem with the local Fox station Comcast is sending down the
cable
Definitely NOT network...cause it looks and sound great from my local
station.
