The muddled thinking that pervades this newsgroup like November mist on a Sussex down dictates that commercial reality is too hideous a spectre to accept, and that that messengers shall be shot at. May we please have those pearls of wisdom translated into English? He means you're all talking ****e. Bill, you might like him for his reactionary politics, but you're doing yourself no favours by siding with somebody so lacking in integrity. He just abuses people that he has no answer for - heck, see what you've quoted of his above - and he'll even deny that he does it in the very next post. Oh dear, I'm certainly not siding with him, not at all. I was merely attempting to clarify his English. I'm not taking sides in this at all. It's just that when someone comes out with a multi-clause sentence containing a great deal of imagery it needs to be beautifully crafted, and that one wasn't. But I suppose he would have polished it had it been intended for a less transient medium. And has he got reactionary politics? Must say I've never noticed. Always seems to be a bit of a lefty from where |I'm sitting. Bill |

I think they can. They have to pay for their inclusion of the EPG but could as well add another EPG to the bit stream. Huh? I thought Sky's EPG encoding used the DVB-SI stream in a manner incompatible with Event Information Tables (the standard EPG) - that is, Sky-coding prevents adding another EPG to the bitstream. BBC told me that they can't add the standard EPG to satellite. Is that incorrect? I was just guessing. Using something in an incompatible manner - yuck. That should not be needed, but I guess it just seemed a good idea at the time. For now it is probably a lot of work to fix. Thomas |

It's absolutely true. Yes, I admit to being a great big, nasty man who's saying unpalatable truths that pink and fluffies can't stomach. snip And you should see his stomach, it's shadow is very handy for keeping your cold lager from the sun on hot summer days. After all your sales depend to some extent on your image, presumably. Bill That presumes he had, or still has any reputation still worth keeping I suspect he long had hope of being quoted out of context, in order to raise his already low reputation i.e You can't lower what has already sunk ;-) Steve Terry |

Well said, that man. In fact, many people have their curious reactions shaped by what they think I've said, rather than what I've actually said. For example I've been accused of using personal insults --something I rarely do. Strange that the accusers never cite evidence -- not even from memory. ... Hardly necessary when almost this whole thread stands as evidence of your insulting people being your raison d'être. You thinly disguise your insults of other posters with verbiage, but they're still insults. |
