How to Reactivate Skycard for FTV?
 

My Skycard without subscription used to still work on Ch4,Five & Sky Three.

The Sky Digibox broke down & the card was not used for some time.

Recently I obtained another Sky Digibox, but the old prescription card does
not work anymore on Ch4,Five & Sky Three.

Could it work again on my new Sky Digibox? Or doesn't it work anymore
because the Sky Digibox nr & Sky card are not matched together?

I tried leaving the box switched on for a long time on Five, but it still
doesn't work!

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Ususally takes 24-72hrs to wake up.

The old card should re-authorise itself automatically within a few
hours in your new box *if* the box is running recent firmware.

What happens when you push 0101 on the remote?

If I press 0101 on my remote I get BBC R1

Operating Software Version is: 1.2S4FH
EPG Software Version is: 3.5.3

Is this recent software?

I tried to do a forced software download pressing backup and plugging in.

It didn't give any message on screen, but the box seemed to download new
software anyway.

The box has been on for 6 hrs, but still no Ch4,5 or Sky3

Your firmware should be OK. It is a "house" card you have, isn't it?
Not one of the older type?

If you go into the services/setup/details menu can you see the card
serial number listed?

yes, it's a yellow house card.

I can also see the number of the card in the menu.

It's an ex subscription card.

Could it be that because the card is now in another digibox that it doesn't
come back to life?

It's not married to this box that i'm now using.

I do have the original digibox nr somewhere, so I could try to put it in a
Dragoncam and fill in the original digibox nr.

Could that work you think?

Hello Jomtien,

thanks for your help sofar. Actually I bought the box second hand with the
card from somebody in the London area. It worked fine for about a year. For
sometime after that the Grundig Digibox wasn't connected to my dish anymore.
After I finally connected it again the box started giving error messages
like : no signal being received.

Upgrading the power supply didn't help, so I got myself a 2nd hand Pace 2200
box. This one does get a decent signal, but unfortunately the card stopped
working on the FTV channels.

What could I try next? Could it take more than 6 hrs to get it going again?
Maybe I should leave it switched on overnight.

I had something similar to this. Ex subs card, didn't see 4, 5 or sky 3.
When I put it on Sky 1 - it said the card wasn't authorised. So
scrapped(wasn't my old subs card).

Another ex-subs card did see 4,5,S3- but they weren't decoded. Left the card
in for 24 hours and they came on.

New Freesat cards don't see 4,5,S3 initially until they're activated.

Your box and card only need to be married for Premium Channels- Sky Movies
and Sports.

If the card worked before then it should work again.

Yes, just leave the card in the box and leave the box on. In rare
cases it may take 48 hours.
