In Currys/Dixons you can get Sky HD for £200 when you buy a TV It's the same at all ASA's, £100 off Sky HD if you buy a TV (doesn't even have to be an HD TV). Where does one cash this in? With Sky themselves? Cant see any mention of it anywhere. I thought it was (originally) limited to Sony Bravia TVs? Not being in sales I don't know, but presumably you send it off to Sky?, or perhaps the dealer does?. The £100 off Bravia's if you bought Sky HD ended a good while back, with that the customer definitely had to send a form off to claim it. -- Nigel Goodwin C.Farmer Ltd. Matlock |

Everyone thought things were fantastic when Monochrome went to colour but we still got the same old stuff, Same as mono to Stereo did'nt make the music any better quality!! The powers that be are only scamming the young pups because the older and wiser will have none of it...they've seen it all before. so you still use a monochrome, non stereo 20" tv ? LOL, we watched it at my rich uncle's, he was a coal miner, tiny little screen not helped by the fact I had poor eyesight which hadn't been discovered. To be honest I don't remember much about it even though I was 6. Mike -- Michael Swift We do not regard Englishmen as foreigners. Kirkheaton We look on them only as rather mad Norwegians. wrote in message ups.com... Just a heads up that the cost of Sky HD will probably be coming down soon. The following evidence is presented: 1. Existing Sky subscribers can now purchase a Sky HD box for £200 and get it fitted by an independent retailler at the price determined by the retailer (around £60). 2. At The Ideal Home Exhibition is London recently you could sign up for Sky HD for £200 (plus new subscription). 3. Those who work in the public sector (e.g. DSG) got a Sky HD offer in their pay slips recently (£100 + 12 month subscription). 4. In Currys/Dixons you can get Sky HD for £200 when you buy a TV So if you are thinking of getting Sky HD for Christmas I'd advise shopping around and not paying the full £300. For more details simply read the discussions in the Sky HD forums at the following web sites: www.avforums.com www.digitalspy.co.uk I hope this info is useful. David An act of desparation when sales are not going too well then! HD isn't very good unless you have a decent TV. Most of the "old stock" being sold off in shops now do not show it correctly. |

From that I take it you don't have HD TV but you thought you would post anyway, like so many others that never have much to say. Everyone thought things were fantastic when Monochrome went to colour but we still got the same old stuff, Same as mono to Stereo did'nt make the music any better quality!! I take it you have a hearing difficulty or try to listen to a stereo broadcast through ONE speaker as most DABradio owners do then! Stereo audio is far better quality than mono. Colour pictures has nothing to do with actual programme content. The powers that be are only scamming the young pups because the older and wiser will have none of it...they've seen it all before. No one is being scammed, people have a choice to buy whatever they want. If they see TV as such a major part of their life or treat it as a substitute for no friends/family then it's up to them. I hardly watch TV as I am too busy working to pay for other things I enjoy. |

Why are you using the Internet anyway if you are so against any technical advances. |
