Worth getting 56" Samsung 1080P or 1080i?
I've read a lot about 1080p vs 1080i and I am interested in a Samsung
56" that comes in 2 versions. The 1080p is about $800 more. The TV will be 13 feet away. will I even notice a difference? |

The logic of this NG seems to be that the "discernable distance" is somewhere
around 7" of screen size per foot of viewing distance. 56/7=8 feet. You are at 13 feet. -- All the Best Richard Harison wrote in message ups.com... Extremetech has a very well written article on this, with a graph that shows the distance at which an average person can distinguish individual pixels on sets of various size. I remember the results for the 56 inch, since I was thinking of getting one, and you have to be less than 11 feet away before you can tell the difference. That said, 1080 sets can also have superior image processing, so you might want to go to a store to compare them for yourself. |
