A large percentage of those who take the film/sport packages have no interest in the basic channels and would cancel them if they could. Presumably Sky have calculated that the loss from this would be greater than the gain to made from those who currently don't take anything because they don't want the basic channels. -- Digibox problem? : A reboot solves 90% of these. Cant agree more ......... I gave up my Sky 12 months ago as £42.00 per month
was in my opinion not good value for money. I only had Sky for the football, yet, as we all do, had to subscribe to various other Channels to be able to recieve Sky Sports. I didnt watch a single film on Sky in 6 years! As i have no interest in films. Id be quite happy to be able to use the free to view package and then pay a set amount (£5 - £10) to view a required football match. I assume though that Sky have calculated all options and reckon they would lose too much revenue by having that option available. |

Well then that's your problem. Why were you paying for the film channels if you didn't watch them? And don't say because you had to, because you didn't have to. -- |

For the sake of clarity, you don't have to subscribe to the movie channels in order to subscribe to Sky Sports. I cancelled my rarely-watched movie channels when Film4 went FTA. Only saved me a couple of £ a month though so hardly worth cancelling. Stan |
