Possible to get free to view channels through redundant sky dish?
There's a sky dish on the roof of the building connected to the flat
I'm in. I'm using a Humax PVR box, with rubbish reception on an indoor ariel. Is it possible to use the old Sky dish to receive good digital reception? Any help MUCH appreciated! |

Is it possible to use the old Sky dish to receive good digital reception? Probably. You'll need a Sky (or similar) STB, plus a viewing card for channel 4 and 5 (I think) and a few others that are sent across encrypted. Sell the Humax. -- Max Demian |

A better approach would be to fit a Yagi to the dish bracket and use the feeder from the LNB to your flat. -- Ian G8ILZ The mind boggles at trying to connect a Freeview PVR to a Sky dish :-o) Regards Mike. |

I was rather assuming that the statement "There's a sky dish on the roof of the building connected to the flat I'm in" meant it was only connected to that flat. -- Ian G8ILZ |
