Sky One introduces on-screen paid for advertising during programmes

I just got back from holiday, so this might be old news by now but since it's something I haven't seen before, and it's something that I predicted would happen at least 6 months ago, forgive me for pointing it out again. During The Simpsons tonight, Sky One had on-screen adverts for Dominos Pizzas during the programme itself, as well as the normal pre and post ad break slots. I taped it if anyone doubts this. It won't be long now before every programme has a similar message from the sponsors permanently etched onto our ever diminishing viewing screen. No doubt the next Sky mag, and replies to this post, will be full of people praising them for doing this because they didn't know what to have for tea. Up the video here http://www.4shared.com/ |

If they're appearing during a programme that a pretty obvious mistake, but nothing more. -- |

Presuming that you have already set your digibox to timeout the red dot after 30 seconds, Sky must have deliberately triggered it into "aggressive" mode to get it to re-appear. Otherwise I'd only expect to see two screengrabs when the dot unavoidably appeared: one at the start, and one after the ad-break. Can you confirm that it kept on re-appearing? It kept coming back on every few minutes. yeah, that's the same tactic as used by the challenge channel -- Paul (Neurotic to the bone No doubt about it) ------------------------------------------------------ Stop and Look http://www.geocities.com/dreamst8me/ |

Yeah, right. Just like Sky's house ads coming on over programmes was a mistake, and not just a way to train viewers for the day they could start using paid for advertising instead. Yes, exactly like that. A mistake. And not just some paranoid conspiracy theory as you (again) suggest. -- |

A big ad for something - not just a red dot - kept appearing every 2 minutes!!!! Loz |
