One thing which I believe that they mentioned is "an _affordable_
PVR". No doubt tied to a fairly long subscripion.

The key point is that they are attempting to move some (perhaps most?) of
their output to a download and view later model, in order to offset the loss
of their bandwidth to Channel 5, who will use the space for new Freeview
channels. That is what the new Anytime PVR is about. That and trying to
revive a failed business plan.

Can you imagine trying to pitch TUTV to the Dragons' Den crew?

Are TUTV making a profit?
I dont know of anyone who has a TUTV freeview box, never mind anyone
who subscribes!

Everything else is speculation at this stage.

It would be a pity (and pretty dumb) if the service wasn't
compatible with existing TUTV-compatible PVRs, with or
without a firmware upgrade.

From reading the numerous posts on digital spy forums re tits up "new"
service there seems to be an opinion that new pvr's will be needed costing
between 200 - 250 quid and that they will not be compatible with old tits
up, subscription is supposed to be 10.99 a month.
Probably curtains or tits up.

Yes, I saw that. It's a photograph of a set top box, and an
invitation to register your interest in it. No details of any kind
about the actual revised TUTV channel offering or how it will work -
even less than have been reported / speculated upon elsewhere. You
obviously have a very different idea to mine about what constitutes
useful information!

It could actually be a photograph of a *mock-up* of a set top box, and
you can't see too much detail from that anyway.

As a current TUTV subscriber I have never had any info from them, but
they still lift the £7.99 per month from my CC with monotonous
regularity. What did they they send to you?

I received an email from them, which also included a questionaire, giving
one some idea of their future plans. My lack of interest at the time, and my
dreadful memory recall, prevents me from giving you a useful answer.

Sylvain.

The Top Up TV Anytime Digital TV Recorder will be available in Autumn 2006.

I wonder what this could be? The description suggests perhaps a PVR that only
works with TUTV,

From their web site

This is the new Top Up TV Anytime Digital TV Recorder, allowing you to
record, pause, fast forward and rewind your Freeview channels and much

Do Tits Up believe that they are now part of Freeview or are they
indicating that that they will be no longer broadcasting?
