Thiunking of upgrading my TV

After a 37 inch (no more) LCD. I currently have a very nice Toshiba 32 inch LCD but it's just a bit too
small. Anyone got any ideas as I have been out of the game a while now!

I like the look of the Samsung but they only do 32 & 40 that I can see. The new Toshiba looks great, any
ideas?

BTW, my old mint 32 inch LCD will be fore sale shortly. It has tons of connections with two sets of
component, 3 scarts etc. It really is in superb condition with no dead pixels etc. Sensible offers?

Just curious; why LCD and not plasma?

All the best,

Then you have had 4 not so good Plasmas. LCD technology is currently not
as good as the better Plasmas in quality, Image, contrast, black levels,
and display of faster moving images, sport, films etc. This was stated in
a recent AV forums podcast although they said that LCD is getting closer
but if they had to pick, plasma was still better all round. LCD is ahead
on things like not being overly succeptable to screen retention and they
are getting quite sharp in HD etc and are brighter due to their inherrant
back lighting, which is probably why the black levels are not as good.

Are you sure mate? Is it better than 120-130 degrees? My LCD monitor
doesn't have anything like that wide
LCD's do not suffer burn-in

They do but are not as fast to do so. And you are probably thinking
retention rather than burn in.
Lighter

OK, I so often have to move my plasma around I wish it were so much
lighter, this is a moot point mate
Less fragile

Again, a moot point, if I drop either a plasma or LCD I would expect it to
break
LCD are thinner

Marginally but plasmas aren't exactly thick
LCD better picture at high altitude

Like in a plane?
