writes as subject really keep hearing from people its free. Is this true or are they all lying to me ? It's true, you can now watch all the old films the other channels gave up showing years ago for free :-) The sad thing is that apart from watching Milla in the Fifth Element there is nothing I want to watch. Film 4 seem to equate heavy, deep & depressing with good. When all most of us want is a bit of hedonistic escapism on a Friday night. Strange because C4 has got the idea :-) -- Edward Cowling London UK |

Oh FFS - how many adverts, posters, flyers etc. do you need to convince you! Yes, it is almost like the guy on the train who sees at least 5 signs saying the train is for Letchworth, then hears 10 announcements that the train is for Letchworth, and still has to annoy the passengers asking where the sodding train is going :-) -- Edward Cowling London UK |

But totally pointless IMO until they start showing films in the correct aspect ratio. Free or not, there's no way I'm watching cropped films. |

My memory may be playing tricks but I thought that when Film 4 started they made a fuss out of the fact that they were a specialist film channel that respected their product sufficiently to show it without any butchery. Now they're just the same as any other TV channel with the exception of the single fact that they only show one kind of programme. Rod. |
