Crackling on Grundig Freeview box....
What the subject title says. When I take a look at Freeview, everything is fine with each channel until I get some text on the screen, then I got this constant annoying crackling/interference. So, for example, Sky Sports news, with the latest news update banner at the bottom of the screen is in constant crackle mode. Five live radio on 705 is fine for the first few seconds until all the channel info and text appears then it goes again, and strangely I can eradicate the crackling if I press the red button and the '0' button to 'hide the screen' it goes. And a final example, the channel guide, is also of a right din. It always seems to be text on the screen that does the damage. Any ideas? This box is a few years old now, but has been working fine apart from that. Many thanks Garry |

I wonder if you are watching via SCART or via the aerial lead. It sounds like the latter and as if the picture is breaking through into the audio section. Known as "Intercarrier Buzz". Watch via SCART instead. -- From KT24 - in drought-ridden Surrey Using a RISC OS5 computer |

I have a simple setup: tv with single scart, VCR with two scarts and STB with two scarts. To be honest I have a bit of a job figuring out what signal feeds what and how it all fits together, but with only one scart on the tv I can only watch either the STB or the VCR via scart. I think! Many thanks for a quick reply. cheers Garry |
