Anyone else tried this? I did a test recording of 'NCIS' on Five tonight
while I was out. I was rather surprised when I got back to find that it had recorded! |

I tried recording 'The Simpsons' on Sky1 (just to test it you understand). It told me it couldn't find the program. Can you paste here the *exact* SMS you sent? Ta Andy |

... I tried recording 'The Simpsons' on Sky1 (just to test it you understand). It told me it couldn't find the program. Yeah. I keep getting that - even when I do it exactly right. I also tested it by just sending 'Frasier.' and it replied with a list of times, none of which were the next scheduled episode. Then I tested it with just 'Doctor who.' and it set it for the Saturday night episode automatically, without giving me the choice of other showings (later in the week). Seems like they need to tweak the search algorithms, or (here's a radical idea) publish some instructions on how it works. Fred. |

The Sky By Mobile application is much easier to use than the SMS method. Ray Martin |

Do you need "a compatible handset" for the SMS service? I have a Sony Ericsson P910i which is not in the list but I heard Sky had opted for the Symbian OS so am confused. -- Vass '02 YZF-R1 |

Can you paste here the *exact* SMS you sent? OK, no problem. I sent it as:- "NCIS. Five. 08/07. 20:05" and it worked. The confirmation message said Trial Service and I wasn't charged. I had one that didn't work (CSI: NY) |

You can DL the application from: http://mobile.sky.com/SBM/SonyE_novi...yWithoutTv.jar Just install it and off you go. The thing to remember is the left-hand option is the yellow button and the right-hand option is the green button (you'll see what I mean when you run it.) The SMS service works on any phone that can send a text message! Ray Martin |

Hi,
In article , Fred wrote: Seems like they need to tweak the search algorithms, or (here's a radical idea) publish some instructions on how it works. Well, if the search is the same as the one on the Internet site, then I can understand why it doesn't work. I tried a search (on the web site) for 'The Simpsons' across all channels and it couldn't find anything... Andy |
