New Update?
As Subject line (digibox off this morning so knew something like an update
had happened) Whats the *System Health Check* in the services menu now all about. From what I've checked on, selecting it, just brings up a 4 digit number (Nothing Else noticed yet) T.W. |

"Paul Brenchley" wrote in message ... Where in services? I'm not near the TV at the moment but Services Sytem Setup I think it's on (last line down) It MIGHT just be Sky+ (Sorry I should have mentioned my system) I entered the numbers shown which is 4 digits, System beeps like when you enter a wrong pin for viewing or PPV and another number comes up. Just a note I did it over six times so entering like you do the PIN three times wrongly, did'nt lock the box up I have'nt a clue what it supposed to do unless there's another updater coming soon to get this new function working? T.W. It doesn't appear to be on my normal digibox... I think I saw elsewhere that there is now a fix but a forced install would have to be done. ------------- " Ive heard of 3 Pace PVR1s stuck on standby this morning. Anyone else got problems. Just got off the phone to Sky's tech support and they've been flooded with similar calls today (likely to get worse as people get home to find no TV, I reckon !). They are advising people to keep trying from time to time as they're working on a fix. Just a coincidence that there was a software update downloaded last night ?? I gather that this is really for Sky's use - if you have a problem and contact them they will instruct you to use the 'healthcheck' and tell them the results so they can diagnose the problem. It's not intended for self-diagnosis. More usefully, the update allows Sky+ users to get rid of the annoying PIN demand on recordings watched before the applicable watershed. |

I'll ask about that, when I get in touch with the installer, to see about getting the blasted thing returned. |

Can you turn OFF Parental Controls, ie "there are no children in this household so stop nannying me", and then not ever be bothered by PIN demands? It appears to do so - that is to say, the facility is definitely there and I have applied it: but so far I haven't watched anything which would be affected and so I can't confirm that it actually works in practice. |
