Anyone know what the full range of price increases from 1st September

According to the letter with this month's Sky magazine, I won't suffer
any increase (standard package, multiroom).

Not sure what these 'mixes' folk are refering to but my package is going up
£1 to £43.50. Time for a downgrade I think , considering I hardly watch any
of it, though Deadwood is coming back :O)

I wonder if they'll be bothered to let those of us who don't get the
magazine know eventually? Hmph.

The letter I had with the magazine (today) doesn't mention prices at
all, anywhere. No mention of me staying on the same price, but no
mention of an increase. What I am supposed to infer from that?!

On My letter I nearly missed it 3/4 way down, like the way they mingle to
announcement into the letter like that, I have sky plus and multiroom
and am going from £36.22 to £37 so an increase for me of 78p, my package I
am on is normal family, (no movies or sports) supposed to be £21 I think
last time I looked.

You have the 6 mixes with sport and movies.

A phone call saying you want to cancel, will get you half price subs for
a few months.

Yes, I've seen that style of letter before; it is dishonest as you say
to bury price increases in the middle of the text, thus only
fulfilling the letter of the contract to notify you in writing and
not the spirit.

However this letter doesn't mention anything about prices. It waffles
on about all the new seasons coming soon (ie not this month - almost
begging along the lines of "don't cancel your contract yet because
there will be new stuff in October"!), tells me that my "kids" (I
think they mean children) will like Toonami and Cartoon network
despite the fact that I don't subscribe to the "Kids" Mix and Sky
knows this; etc. etc.

It's absurd enough to scan if only I had a scanner :)

I was going to scan mine which said there will be no increases for me,
but I've just realised it was shredded yesterday morning.

I hope there won't be an increase, as my subscription ends in a few
days.

My letter has a big purple band across the top and bold letters
proclaiming: "Important - Advance Notice of Changes to Your
Subscription" and it kicks straight off with my Sky World+Multiroom
increase (up by £1 to £53.50).

I have no objection to a 2% price increase but I do object strongly to
selective price increases. Sky say that the increases apply only to
their premium package subscribers, ie Sky Sports and Sky Movies, so
maybe they figure that these customers have more money. Anyway, I
cancelled Sky Movies in protest although I will still get a price
increase for my Sky Sports sub.

No, it actually makes a nice chance. For *years* Family Pack
subscribers have been lumped with over inflation increases with the
excuse that the cost of movies and sports (which they did not get) had
gone up a lot, so we had to subsidise the sports and movie viewers!

For once, that makes me happy.

But the alleged reasons for the price increases are all BS, surely?

ISTM they tend to alternate price rises - one year increasing the
standard package, the next the Premiums.
