Well, it looks like a serious problem of misconvergence. The display in the
second picture shows the screen where you can set the convergence, but in a
case this extreme I don't know if there's enough latitude in the controls.

It's possible there's been some sort of failure in the circuitry of one of
the colors (probably the green, based on the picture), and it will need
repairs.

Did this come about suddenly? Were there any associated phenomena (noise,
smoke, etc.)?

PS: May I ask how "old" the set is? I have an Akai PT5598 that is two years
old, and running fine.

The Samsung design may have sustained convergencecorrection or output
circuit problems. Have it checked out, might just be the CG Amp assembly or
even problems in the signal board, requiring a complete registration setup,
after replacing it.

Hi all,

Thanks for getting back to me. I got this set from a friend and I guess that it is ~ 3 is old. I checked the circuts and it does not look damaged or burned.

I am whilling to invest few $$ to try to repair it by myslef but ordering services will cost xxx$ which is why to much for such unit.

Can anyone sugest which circut should be replaced, maybe you have the part # and where I can order it?

Thanks,

Nir.

First off, the GC Amp (Convergence Output). Or replace the 2 stk output
devices and check all the low value resistors, replace any that are out of
tolerance, if in doubt, get a serice manual, from SAMSUNG.
